The community spread of a number of pediatric respiratory illnesses this winter is high and you may have noticed that wait times for calls back or appointments may be longer than anticipated.
Many of us who have been doing this job for decades are experiencing the highest phone call and illness volume of our careers.
We are working to increase staffing and access to the best of our ability and appreciate your patience as we work to take care of our community.
When you are expecting a call back please remain available by phone. If you miss the call it may significantly extend your wait time. Please set up your voicemail and ensure it has space for messages.
We understand you are thinking about the health of your family, and many of you are wanting to make sure we have the capacity for sick visits that may be needed. If you are not planning to attend a visit PLEASE call and let us know so that we can use that time to help other families.
We have also been asked if we recommend postponing routine checkups and other non-urgent visits. At this time we continue to recommend that all patients have scheduled preventative care on time.
We continue to utilize separate physical spaces in our building for sick and well visits and take extra precautions to minimize the chance of exposures.
SPC continues to request all visitors 2 years of age and older wear face coverings during office visits per Oregon Health Authority guidelines.
